About Us
ModoWorks started as a side project and as an excuse to show our kids what it looks like to run a business. One of us is a software engineer who’s a perfectionist that’s great with a 3D printer. The other spent years in marketing. It works out great.
After hearing "AI is coming for your job" enough times, the marketing one decided to stop waiting around for it - she left tech to focus on printing plastic things for people who love football, fandom, and the occasional weird gift. Let's see AI do that.
What started at the kitchen table is now a real shop with 1,000+ customers, in all 50 states. We're surprised by it every day. Everything is made by us in our backyard shop, which now has 5 printers.

Prepping to Print
We go through a LOT of Buffalo Blue filament. This spool was being loaded up so we could run overnight to fulfill all our orders for MVP keychains.

Assembling Orders
After each item comes off the printer, there's still plenty of work to do to get the item finished - each item is finished and assembled by hand.

We've since graduated to a better system, but in our very early days, this is how we kept track of what we needed to print each night - on our kids' easel.
